Kota Kinabalu: Members of the fast-growing network; Sabah Young Business and Industry Leaders (SYBIL) hosted a fun and laidback business-networking event on Thursday.
Gathering attendance from 150 of Sabah’s established young business owners, prominent corporate leaders, officials from the State Government, Government Linked Companies (GLC’s), research institutions as well as reputable social media influencers.
It has been an immensely fruitful year for SYBIL where within its first year; amazing opportunities have been forged and remarkable collaborations have been made.
Among the accomplishments that SYBIL has achieved include successfully organizing a CEO Masterclass with Tan Sri Vincent Tan as the main speaker, dialogue sessions with Sabah Economic Advisory Council (SEAC), creation of policy taskforce and workshops, signing of MoU with Jiangxi companies, as well as creating taskforce secretariats of various industries and collaborating with companies and institutions from across different industries.
SYBIL is currently creating a platform for Sabah companies to join the Oil and Gas bandwagon under its Oil & Gas taskforce led by Keith Koh.
In regards to this, Keith shared that SYBIL will be co-organizing an Onboarding Oil & Gas workshop with Sabah Oil and Gas Services Council (SOGSC) which is scheduled to be held on the 12th of December 2024 at ITCC Ballroom, Penampang.
Enhancing the education sector is also a part of SYBIL’s upcoming plans by building relationships with institutions to offer career guidance, develop skillsets that are specific to cater for the needs of the marketplace and help develop boost employability for future Sabahan graduates.
SYBIL continues to pave a positive path towards assisting the state government in creating a platform for young business leaders to share their ideas, knowledge and specialties to ultimately create a stronger future economy for all Sabahans and is actively planning numerous events and excited for the year ahead.
Held at the showroom of MissReno, a one-stop renovation material showroom, Kevin Lee, as the Director of MissReno and exco member of SYBIL welcomed all guests and thanked them for making time to join while giving brief highlights of SYBIL’s events and achievements in 2024.
The atmosphere of the evening was filled with laughter and attendees enjoyed drinks & delectable finger foods while being serenaded with jazz music in a relaxed setting nurturing engaging conversations among the professionals from various backgrounds yet all with the same mindset of aiming to bring a brighter future for Sabah.
